oh well get a H/C/I setup. AFR heads are the best for 5.0L, I'd get a Holley or Edelbrock intake, and get a cam that suits your style

I'm not sure about which to go to, I'll wait for Pete to answer that, I usually have to ask when it comes to fuel delivery, it's very important and bad advice can mess stuff up

those get the most out of your cam if they are a bigger ratio, also if they are rollers they produce less friction and heat. They give substantial gains when you have a cam, about 10hp

a trickflow stage2 kit sounds nice to me

that's what i would recommend...the trickflow kit or the holley systemax kit. you get matched components and takes some of the guess work out of it

afr 165s, holley systemax 2 intake, TFS stage 2 cam, 70mm tb, 24lb injectors and matching 75mm MAF, adjustable fuel pressure regulator

or you can get the custom speeddemon40 kit. i haven't seen them advertised anywhere yet, but i'm sure you can find one if you look around a litte bit

Speeddemon40 knows what he is talking about so it would be good to listen to him (considering his old coupe made almost 400rwhp out of a 331).
Where I'd differ from his recommendation is on the cam since you pistons aren't notched for such a large cam. I'd go with AFR 165's and Edelbrock rpm2 intake, TFS stage 1 cam with 1.7 roller rockers and a 70mm TB, 75 MAF, 24 injectors and adjustable regulator. Oh and a 255 fuel pump if you don't already have one. That combo will make 315rwhp on a stick 302 or around 280 on an auto.

stage 2 will clear stock pistons with 1.6s and a 1.90 intake valve.

I stand corrected; always used to using 1.7's but after checking the lift of the stage 2 again I see you are right.
Guess I think people are like me and running the stage 2 and 1.7 rockers. Makes a lot of lift then.

We were reffering to not only injected combos but streetable 302 combos. Your carbed car is no 302.

i would go with the trickflow kit, its a damn good kit, but you might wanna upgrade fuel system with it, but watch the tranny it might not last too long with the kit

The only reason I avoid a lot of TFS items is due to finding excessive amounts of casting flash in their intakes and heads (know of one motor taken out by a TFS intake dropping casting flash into engine). They may have the issue fixed by now but it just left me with a bad feeling towards their products.

That and going with an offset 2.02 valve head puts a huge limit on the size cam you can go with. With stock pistons anyway

yeaa i heard that too, i was talkin to some guy on another forum and a piece of casting in his tf intake blew his whole motor, pretty scary. but i bought a trickflow intake for my older stang and it looked fine.
