View Full Version : ford new warranty program
starting in '07 FoMoCo is now offering a 5 year/60K mile powertrain warranty with no deductibles on all it's vehicles.
very cool.
i figured it would be a matter of time before they had to do something to keep up with these ridiculous warranty programs the import companies are offering.
have to stay competitive.

That is cool, I wish the cobra would have had that...
Won't matter anyway as Ford never stands behind it's warranties as is. After the paint situation with the Mountaineer that was a factory defect I doubt I'll be buying a new Ford ever again.

Well that sucks....
Yes it does; the Mountaineer had to have the hood repainted at 2 years due to the paint flaking off down to the metal. Well 2 months after the 3 year point the roof started flaking off and they wouldn't do anything but offer us $500 towards a $4000 paint job since it was 2 months out of warranty. The point I made with them was that it obviously was an existing problem since the hood had the same problem. So the moral of the story is the more you spend on a Ford the worse they treat you. My cheap Ranger has had no problems; the $42,000 Mountaineer has had many.

wow, sorry to hear. If it makes you feel better Dodge treats their customers like numbers too. Well atleast the Dodges over here
ohh and the warranty thing is pretty cool though, I mean I'd like to have warranty for longer if I bought a new car. Although some companies have horrible warranties where nothing is covered on the damn contract anyways

My 08 came with the 5yr/ 60 k. How good is ford about honoring waranty issues with lightly modified vehicles?

In Canada it seems it depends on the dealer and whether you purchased and service the vehicle with them. It also depened on what the problem is and if it is related to the mods.

Crazy Horse, I just bought mine a few months ago, I didn't pay for the extended warranty because that would just be paying to wait longer to put on a S/C. The supposed "warranty expert" at the dealership said that as long as I didn't touch the block, i.e.....no headers, no s/c-t/c, etc.... that the warranty would be fine. I specifically asked about CAI and exhaust and he repeated himself. "As long as you don't touch the block, you're fine." I smiled and said ok. Can I get that in writing. And I did.
