I got a delima. I own an 04 v6 mustang. i got it cause its more of a challenge to make fast and a better since of pride when u smoke a v8, but i was wondering about wut to do next to it. im debatin between cam or 3.73 and a LSD rear end. Im gettin them both eventually but i vheard if i did the rear end now that i will actually become slower because i dont have enough HP yet. which one should i choose
first, this is in the wrong section. It should be in the v6 section.
secondly, I'd go with the gears first. They are a great first mod and they feel like they are worth the money

turbo. By the time you piece together bolt ons you could get a nice turbo kit.:P

My first bit of advice is to get to know the mustang community a bit more before you go V8 bashing. ALSO, I highly recommend learning to spell. If you're as smart as you seem then I dont see you being able to drive your car worth a shit, and therefore dont recommend get any more HP than you have to have.

A: stock auto (pre 05)
B: the driver just sucked that bad

yea what he said^ i spent over 1500 in jsut exahust on my old car. hell my tires and wheels were almost dam near 600 for just the rear. and what do you have in your 1500 to beat said V8s. also we have numeorus members here with 12, 11 and 10 second cars. and yes you can build any engine to be faster then a v-8 its all personal preference. i want to know what you have to say your beating V-8s already. what mods are they? also i checked out that link you posted. only v-6 i saw was a customers car, just glanced over the details of it and id be willing to bet we have members that can smoke it.

if you factor in that my intake and exhaust were on my car when I bought it, I have about 1500 in mine too... it's more than capable of running 11s, sounds like a mustang should, and gets 25+mpg on the freeway.
I don't see the 6-banger allure. To make a 6-cyl run 10s, you'll be dumping 20 grand in the thing and won't be able to drive it anywhere because it won't idle for shit. Not to mention it'll always look stupid when the sound of the V6 is bellowing out of the Y-piped exhaust

Whats the challenge in making a v6 faster than a v8 anyway? You can make any car faster than another car its just the amount of money your willing to spend on it. There is NO challenge involved in building the V6 compared to the V8. Simple as that. All it takes is more money, time, and effort. Maybe I bought a V8 (3 V8 mustangs since i was 17) because I didn't want to blow a shit ton of money on a depreciating asset? By the time you sink enough money in that pile to make it run 10's, you could have had your car stock-ish, and an 03/04 cobra running 10's as a weekend car, becuase it's going to take you 35 grand to get that 6er there.
I'd also advice not coming in here disrespecting our loyal moderators acting like you fuckin own the place.

How many times have u seen a v8 mustang pull sub 10 second times.. and how many times have u seen a v6 mustang do it... 1 or 2. Not to be a dick to anyone about it. But facts are facts. Now see, there is A Mustang owner who is honest about the potential of his Mustang! My own Mustang isn't the fastest mustang around, just the fastest Mustang that I can afford. But every year #6 slowly get's better looking and now that I am happy with the car cosmetically, I am going to start on the drivetrain modifications! No one's saying a v6 can't be fast, with enough money a v6 can be very fast. The point is with a v8 it's cheaper in the long run. look while it may have appeared were talking shit....ok yea most of us were. but with the mods you "told" us you had your car should not run that fast,least from my knowledge. you say you ran a 8.5 in the 1/8th mile. that would assumingly put you at low 13s like 13.1-13.3ish i believe. with your claimed only 1500 in bolt ons i still dont believe it. because if only those mods put you at near 12 second passes, then everyone would get 6s. you also said that you got the V6 for the challenge of making it faster, then came on saying how easy it is to make a 6 faster then v8s which to me kills your first arguement. now if your 6 is as fast as you say it is, then thats great, keep beating up on F-bodies. i do believe most of us were only saying with your mods you told us we should beat you. now unless your packing something else whcih you also implied then were all at a stand still here.

I have hardly any top end as yall should have guessed from that vid that i showed yall. i hit fourth and it was a slow RPM gain. 1-3 are the only gears that i need in an 1/8 mile. And yea i might have a lil bit more done to my car than i said. Everyone of yall should no not to give out every aspect of what's done to your car. it takes the fun out of building them. i tell every aspect of my car (that i can remember) because it makes me proud that i have all that shit. i had to sacrifice alot to make it that way, ive skipped a few meals for mod money, and ive sacrificed alot of time/money/effort into making my stang fast. i havent been to a QM track, only 1/8ths bc their the only ones i know with little to no regulations. most QM tracks are heavily NHRA regged so you have to have alot of extra shit and pass tech before you can even hit the track.

ok now were getting on a level playing field. me, i dont street race, i dont bracket race. even if i did id go ahead ill tell you waht i got, i dont care. i dont try to hide anything. now i realize when racing for money or wahtnot thats not the best strategy but thats just the kind of person i am. now if i had a sleeper car, then id be right there with ya 6 packin, not tellin everybody everything. but with the mods you listed and claiming an 1/8 of 8.5. people are going to no youre full of shit or think you have no idea what your talking about. and to me, if someone beats me regardless of what they have, then yea it burns a bit, it just means theyve done more, and spent more. ive been beaten by 12 second civics, hell ive been beaten by 12 second buick sedans, grand prixs, and yes v6 mustangs. it really doesnt matter to me if you built a faster car, good for you. all that measn to me is your pocket was deeper then mine. cuz im old school i guess. why go out and buy all that shit for one car, just to beat something else thats bone stock. now i realize that you have the pride thing but to some people, they like to know they can go buy a brand new car, the can run good handle *most* competition on the street and thats it.
