alright, it's decision time, i have had enough of how slow this factory auto shifts, so im going to invest in a programmer, anyone's experiences with different brands would be helpful in deciding which one to get...thanks in advance, car is an 04 GT automatic...

I went with the Superchips brand, easy to use and very noticable difference.

I used the "regular" Superchips tuner in mine awhile ago and did not feel much of a difference. Then I switched to the Diablosport and felt a big difference. The XCAL2 is supposed to be good also, although I am not sure if it comes factory loaded with a tune or if you have to go to a tuner to get the tune for that kind of tuner. I have both, but have only been using the Diablo for my tunes.
I will say that in my Crown Vic I used the Superchips tuner and it did help it quite a bit and definitely firmed up the shifts alot.

shaffe will say SCT xcal 2!! he felt hte most gains, even over the diablo... when i get the money saved up thats what im getting!
XCal 2 without a doubt! theres no way id even tell anyone to consider the Diablo. when you order a XCal they ask for your computer doe and current mods/futuure mods. they then write you a custom mail order tune to be shipped when you order no extra charge. the shifts on my 04 were amazingly powerful and fast after the XCal 2. it dropped me 2 tenths over the Diablosport. it shifts so much faster harder and firmer youll love it. if i stood on the throttle from a stop on the street tires (4.10s keep in mind0 iowuld spin them heavy, then break the tires loose 1-2 shift and chirp them into 3rd. yea get the SCT and never look back.
oh and i fyou have any questions feel free to ask. i have used both the SCT and the DiabloSport and the SCT wins in 95%of the catergories. plus you can get an 87 tune for like 15.00 bucks so you dont go tto run 93 all the time

actually im giving SCTs ewest tuner the X3 a try this time around. im gettin a sweet deal and will let you know how i like it. but the Xcal 2 was the best investment i made in my car besides the gears.
Xcal2 is the best in my books. I have had the diablo and the xcal2 and the xcal kills the diablo.

i have a jet performance programmer but i mite have to try the SCT wut site culd i get it from? with the jet i didn't really notice a diff but it had a set up wur i culd have it auto download the program or custom do it myself.

is the SCT really better than diablo? I have the diablo and it really made no difference I could feel. was told mail order tunes aren't that good. does a custom tune on the dyno really make a "good" power difference??
trust me a mail order SCT TUne will own the diablo tune. trust me ive had both and the SCT owns it. it dropped me down 2 tenths in 1/4 mile and you really feel the difference

really? what about having it tuned on the dyno? would that be alot more power than SCT or about the same? and which SCT there is the xcal2, and that new one cant remember the name it's kinda like a g-tech but with tunes in it.

From what I have heard from people livewire owns all.
from what ive heard the livewire sucks. or at least thats what my tuner told me. said its nothing but a headache and has lots of bugs. he doesnt sell them anymore

the X3 owns tho
I haven't seen anything on the X3 yet I guess I will have to do some research on it.

the X3 is brand new. its not out to all retailers yet. theres only 2 places i know that sell it. american msucle and evolution performance. i got mine through a performance shop who wanted to test them out. its their newest piece of technology and so far i love it. not to mention it looks really cool

Well I have mixed reviews. I personally have had my car tuned using Diablosport products with no issues whatsoever. But then again, I live 10 miles from Diablosport so I am able to get a custom dyno tune from the source. As far as tuners its a draw with me. The "Canned" tune you get from Diablo is alright, but they make it a bit conservative by pulling some timing out just to be on the "safe side". As it is alot better than stock, it isn't an aggressive tune by any means. The SCT comes blank from the factory and only a dealer can tune it, or you can get a mail order tune. When we sell them, we supply a tune based on your mods. Whether or not it is better than the "canned" tune from Diablo I am not sure. Now in my opinion, you are better off with getting a custom Dyno tune. Thats where the real differences are. As long as you have a great tuner, it doesn't really matter between SCT and Diablo. There are a few differences, but none to really make me lean heavily one way or another. The diablo has a better and larger screen, but the SCT is easier to self tune. I have a connection to get you the BEST mail order tune for SCT and Diablosport....period.
As far as Superchips and JET and all of the little offshoot companies, I would stay away from them. Especially if you plan on modding the hell out of your car.

well from my experiences and this is how i feel alot of people use the tuners. or at least alot of people i know would use them, and thats just putting the tune in and maybe making a few changes (shift points, axle ratio that kind of stuff). so the way i look at it, SCT is better then Diablo sport for the average buyer. With SCT you get a mail order tune right to ytour door when you order it so its made for your car. with Diablo, you get an off the shelf tune and have to get it dyno tuned (where it would get better results). but form my experience(ive had both) the SCT is a superior product. ive had so much better esults with it, my car has performed better, and it has sold numerous people on going with SCT. thats how i feel anyways,

yes they have good support but ive known a few people that have been Diablo loyal and went SCT because diablo could not help them with their tuning issues, but a mial order SCT tune cured it:rockon:

the X3 is the new version of the XCal 2. it has all the features of the Xcal 2, plus more memory, live dat logging, more up to date software etc etc. back lit screen. basically just a new and imporved verison of teh Xcal 2. so far i love mine. better then the Xcal 2 i had on the 04

i think tuners are really what can make a huge difference. i went diablo, but i have a local diablo tuner with a dyno (uniquetuning.net) so he was able to pull the best out of that with his custom tunes. i figure the more i mod the better it will get.(with updated tunes of course)
dyno tunes, depending on your tuner either one will be good. but as far as off the shelf, SCT owns because you will get great results without having to go to a dyno. if your like me and just use the tune itself and do not use it to adjust the other featurs other then maybe a few things, but the SCT IMO is teh best tuner out there. even in alot of shops around here, they are switching to SCT to be up to date with the latest technology.
