I was wondering if anyone has had a experience with installing/wiring guages themselves. Is it fairly easy, or is it more of a pay someone to do it thing? I'm not electrically inclined at all, so if it's that hard i'll just leave it to someone else.

What type of guages are they? I just had whiteface glow covers(probably not what you mean) I had help with the wiring from my brother-in-law electrician. Not hard, he just had no how I didn't. You can probably find a good diagram that would tell you exactly how to do it with no guess work.

Well actually I need to buy some, and I was thinking the Autolite Cobalt series. Not exactly sure though.

My gauges are autometer. Really not that hard to wire them up. Best bet is talk to a tech at a Ford dealership. He can pull out the book and tell you which wire you will need for that gauge. I hooked up a fuel/boost/air/fuel on my 04 Cobra.

There are tons of diagrams on the internet that you can use for resources. When you get the gauges let me know and I will give you a couple and that should help you be able to do it.

mine were fairly easy.... someone had to show me exactly which wire to connect my air/fuel gauge to though....

vacuum gauge is extremely simple... and mine are wired up through the headlight knob wires for light
