Step 4
Replace shifter handle and remover the 4 13mm bolts holding the stock shifter in place.

Step 5
Rock the shifter from side to side and eventualy i will come lose. It takes a while but be patient. Swearing at it doesn't help, trust me I know...lol

Step 6
Clean the RVT sealent off of the tranny be careful not to get any in the tranny
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v616/TorchRed04GT/step6.jpg
Step 7
Place new gasket on tranny. I used Cobra Bob's Stang shifter gaskets, instead of RVT sealent.

Great shifter. I was lucky enough to get in on the ground floor.
Talked with George at one of the SCMC drag day events and complained about missing 3rd on one run with a PRO 5.0. He said he was developing a shifter. I said, "Why don't you send me a prototype. I'll do a photo write up on the install and evaluate it." He said okay. Thought he was kidding. Six months later there was a UPS box by the garage door. I did the pics and write up for him. About a month later he called me at the office. Said he didn't like the gate springs and wanted to send me a new set, if I didn't mind installing them.
I never saw a bill for the shifter. 'Course I had previously bought everything he had for a Miata, a MACH 1, and the Cobra.
You will NEVER go wrong with MGW parts !

sweet deal!
+1
I had the MGW shifter in my 98 GT and it was the best shifter on the market. well worth the money. i wish Ford would install them from the factory. but had to sell shifter after my car was totaled. but when get an 08 will install one in it.

Nice! I love mine!
I have a steeda and I am not a big fan of it. I will be switching over after I get done spending my money on other mods.

Hey TorchRed04GT, on your shifter boot area you have that badge "40th anniversary"
did that come on yours or did you buy it and place it there?
I really like that

Which steeda are you running? If I remember you are on the sport one they were testing out? I like my tri-ax

I put that on there. I forgot where I bought it, but I found a link to another site that sells it.
